Are You Wearing Your Bike Helmet Correctly?
Bike helmets can prevent brain injuries, so be sure you and your child are wearing them properly. Follow the steps below before starting any bike or scooter ride. If a helmet is cracked, if the strap constantly loosens or doesn’t buckle properly, or if your child has outgrown their current model, it’s time to replace the helmet.

How to Fit a Bike Helmet:
- Step 1: Choose the right size helmet for your head. It should feel snug but not uncomfortable.
- Step 2: Position the helmet low and level on your forehead. Measure 2 fingers between helmet and eyebrows.
- Step 3: Adjust the side straps into a V shape just below the ears.
- Step 4: Buckle the clasp and adjust the straps so that only 1 or 2 fingers fit in the space between your chin and the straps.
- Step 5: Wear a helmet every time you ride.
